2022 Golf Proceeds Recipients:
- Redwater Citizens on Patrol (RCOP)
- Friends of the Redwater Public Library
With a little help from our friends...
The RCOP acts as the extended eyes and ears of the local law enforcement agencies. The group was first established 5 years ago and was officially registered as Not-for-Profit 2 years ago. The RCOP is a much-needed support mechanism, increasing community health and wellness through crime reduction and a sense of security. The group produces results through the following actions: Deterrence, Education, Awareness and Safety. The RCOP plans to utilize the funds to host 3 seminars:
- Household & Business Security (locks, lighting, security systems, cameras, etc.)
- Property Identification ( electronics, tools, vehicles, etc.)
- Personal Safety Away from Home
Alignment with the Town's Strategic Plan: Connected Communities, Economic Growth, Good Governance, Service Excellence
The Friends of the Redwater Public Library assist the Library in raising funds for capital and special needs and promoting its services and benefit to the general public within the community. The group was established in 1999 and has raised a total of $250,000. These funds have been put towards programming for all age groups, author visits, books, and a variety of other items. The group is heavily involved in many aspects of the community, assisting the Town with the 2013 and many community events as well as frequently partnering with the museum and local elementary and high school. The Friends of the Redwater Library plan to use the funds to assist the library in upgrading and replacing its computers. The service is utilized by all age groups who may not have access to a computer or the internet. It is a vital service allowing individuals to job search/apply and fill out forms for government services, etc.
