Community Services Board

The Community Services Board provides recommendations to the Town of Redwater Administration and Council on community events and programs.  Board meetings are held once per month (usually the 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:00-8:00 pm) from September-June. Board members receive an honorarium of $25 per meeting.

Municipal Planning Commission

The purpose of the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) is to assist the Council with orderly planning and development within the confines of the Town’s Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw.  This includes reviewing Application for Development which are discretionary to the requirements of the Land Use Bylaw and for permitted uses where a relaxation or a variance of a regulation is required.  Their role also includes reviewing various subdivision applications to make recommendations to the Subdivision Authority.

The Municipal Planning Commission is made up of three council representatives and two members-at-large.  These two members-at-large must be residents of the Town and are appointed by council annually.  The MPC carries on the duties of the Development Authority which is required through legislation.

The number of times this committee meets will generally be once per month; however, it is dependent upon the number of applications received which require their review.
