Palliative Care

Support and care is provided to those who are in the final stages of an incurable illness. The goal is not to provide treatment aimed at curing the illness, rather, it is treatment aimed at making the final stages of life the best quality possible.

Continuing Care Program

Six continuing care beds were opened on March 7, 2006.  This project was made possible through the Health Sustainability Initiative (HSI) Government Funding. We opened one more Continuing Care bed on June 16, 2008.

Application for Continuing Care services for Acute Care patients is initiated by the Care Manager, working with the physician.  The patient’s level of care is determined by way of assessment and through collaboration with the care team and family.
